Ah so true! this tip came from Coco Chanel, a woman who was had a vision and made it happen, and who was not afraid to break rules in fashion. I believe that classic glamour doesn’t adhere to structures, but you know it the instant you see it, and what may look hideous on one person can look like perfection on another. It’s just having the confidence to pull it off. If you look confident in what you wear, then others will get it. Coco Chanel had no money to buy fabulous gowns, in a time when women were strapped up in corsets and pink and lace, she borrowed a Duke's clothes, cut up his white shirts and tweed waistcoats and made them her own. Isn't that what fashion is about, daring to be different?
I laugh when my friends ask the question “what are you wearing tonight, are you dressing up?” because they know too right that I never dress down, or I certainly don’t let anyone see me dressed down outside the house. In my opinion a tracksuit and trainers are for exercising!
I think I got it from my mother. My mother has always been glamorous, not in the lace, frills, feathers, sequins sense, but always chic, elegant and immaculate. She doesn’t wear much make-up, in fact I don’t think she would know what shade of foundation or concealer to buy, but she won’t go out without a slick of lipstick, and always in a vibrant colour. She will only wear gold so always looks expensive, and loves elegant black.
I’m a big fan of black, I always feel good in it, but I love colour! I love fabrics that feel great on your skin! I like to go on style.com to view the fabulous dresses and gowns from my favourite designers. Not that I can afford any of them myself, but it excites me to see how creative and inventive the couture designers have been in their latest collections! After all I’m a girl who is more excited about discovering and trying on clothes than the actual purchase, which is probably why I’ve decided to hire out my own dresses. It’s more fun! and people get the chance to hire dresses they wouldn't be able to afford to buy. These are dressed I loved and saved up for, but of course a girl can't be seen in the same dress more than a handful of times :)
Before I go, check out the Christian Dior Fall Couture show collection, beautiful!

I also love the Balmain collection which you can see on the same site! Perfect rock and roll glamour!
